In my moments of doubt, I’ve told myself firmly: if not me, who? if not now, when?
~ Emma Watson
hello loves!
One of the many actresses that inspires me the most is Emma Watson. As a child I grew up being a massive Potterhead (I still am actually). So, I soon saw Hermione as an example of who I wanted to be. I wanted to be the smartest girl of the class, I wanted to read as much as I possibly could and I wanted to be who I wanted to be, instead of being a follower, since Hermione taught me that it was okay to be yourself.
As I grew older I expanded my knowledge and filmrange and I watched some more films of Emma Watson (ballet shoes & the perks of being a wallflower) both incredible and moving films and later on I read the books. I became interested in Emma’s life since I saw some quotes and learned that she worked very hard in school and basically was the Hermione I dreamed to be. This way she became an inspiring person to me.
Emma Watson inspires me because she works hard for everything and fights for what she believes in. A great example of this is her stride for feminism.
During her big presentation at the heforshe conference in 2014 she held a speech about her opinion of the differences between men and women. She stood there as a 24-year old young-woman with the Harry Potter stigma that, at that moment, totally disappeared. Working that hard and fighting for what you believe, even though not everyone will agree with you, is tough, but with actresses like Emma Watson as an example it only encourages the young girls with big dreams of today. We simply must ask ourselves, If not me, who? If not now, when?
Besides her inspirational character, she is nowadays also a style role model. She keeps her style very classy but looks beautiful in everything. She is a perfect example of the fashion-rule ‘less is more’. She says ”the less you reveal, the more people can wonder”. There aren’t many celebrities who live by that rule nowadays. That’s why it is important that there remain actresses like Emma Watson to teach girls that it is okay to be yourself, it is okay to not show everything and above all the inside is far more important than the outside.
Emma Watson has been a part of my childhood and she encouraged me to do my own thing. I can’t wait to see her in upcoming films and see what she will do more to stride against what she thinks is unfair in our world.
Who inspires you?
